Flores, by photographer Joaquin Trujillo. A very special body of work photographed over several years starting in 2009. These still life images pay homage to the women in Joaquin’s family, their affinity for flowers and the influence its had on his life.
“Flowers are really important in my Mother’s and sisters’ homes – not just on birthdays and anniversaries, but every day and year round – on their patios and throughout their houses. They all have their favorite color, aroma, shape and name, “un clavel o una rosa para la mujer hermosa”. The flowers are the representation of the love and support they have given me. My arrangements represent what I have consciously and unconsciously obtained from them as well as what has made me the man I am today”
