Thai artist Pomme Chan is known for her unique curvy lines and whimsical artwork. She uses a mix of traditional and digital mediums to bring her visions to life and oftentimes reproduces her work on rugs, wallpaper, packaging, textile, ceramics, and furniture.
Inspiration comes in many forms for Pomme: Movies, music, culture and architecture, but florals and fauna are especially influential themes in her work. Her keen eye for detail makes her an expert storyteller, but she doesn’t adhere to a single style. Instead she likes to keep things fun and flowing, constantly experimenting in her personal work and partnering with different brands to continue to push her practice into different spaces.
Pomme was born and raised in Bangkok, studied interior design at Silpakorn University, then relocated to the United Kingdom in 2002, establishing her work there as an illustrator. She returned to Bangkok in 2014 and founded ‘Happy People Studio’, building and leading her own team of designers to create art and illustrated works under her direction. In 2020, Pomme also opened her home decor showroom, ‘Swoon’, that specializes in wallpapers, rugs, and prints.
